Recently there have been many OnLine companies now selling a cheap copy of our patented WindPaddle sail. Be aware they are a terrible copy, and although sell for less, they don’t have our lifetime warranty nor do they last. Here are four “real” product reviews of the Knock-Off WindPaddle taken from Amazon.com

I bought this one and I also bought the wind paddle which is much more expensive. I was hopeful that this would work – but it is not durable and it broke the first time I used it. This is literally the only thing I have given one star on Amazon because it only worked one time. I feel bad writing a bad review – as I know the person that is selling it has a family relying on them, but it broke after one time. Like this product – more long term planning will b needed if I plan on using this paddle in my pond.

The thing broke before my first use. It is not worth the money.

As soon as we opened it the bendable wire broke through its casing! There is a metal tube that attaches both ends of the bendable wires together that has a stamped indentation in the middle. The stamp makes it impossible to reconnect the ends without ripping the casing farther. It’s not worth the trouble. I’ll spend extra for the brand name and see how it works. It’s a great idea though!

You get what you paid for. It is a cheap version of the Windpaddle, no extra hardware included, just the sail and 5 pieces of rope (3 are 1′ and 2 about 4′). I bought few carabiners and extra ropes to improve the functionality. Only work on the range of 90 degree downwind, if you want a bigger pint of sails you need to do some modifications in how it get attach to the kayak.
Please know what you are purchasing as some of these online retailers are even using pictures of the original WindPaddle sail in an effort to confuse and and mislead you, the consumer. Call us if you have any questions. 541-490-9112 – Nick
